About Me
Welcome to 刀の刃, my cel and sketch Gallery! It took lots of patience and many years to get to where I am with my collection. I'm very happy with each piece I own and it was worth the wait and hunt. I also met some great people along the way.
I'm a wife of a US soldier. I met my husband in Europe and we got married in the US in 1991 . We have two awesome children, which were born in the early to mid 90s and are now 14 and 17 years old (2009).
I am from Europe, but living in the USA.
I always been fascinated by anime and manga since I was very little. Even
though, back then I didn't know it was called anime or Japanese animation. I was
collecting all kinds of things back in my childhood, from magazines clips to
toys.
I started collecting anime cels around December '98 (or was it Dec. '97 ^^;;
I can't remember) . Ever since I held a anime cel in my hands I could not let go
of this hobby. My first cel was a cel from Sailor Moon Stars of Seiya. I started
watching more "newer" anime and ended up watching Rurouni Kenshin, and
not long after ended up buying cels from it and sold my entire (100 cels) Sailor
Moon collection to be able to afford RK cels.
I started collecting Rurouni Kenshin cels and just about anything related to
Kenshin in May of 1999 and I've been hooked ever since I bought my first Rurouni
Kenshin cel. I don't see myself not collecting from that anime, unless there
aren't anymore cels around to buy. Cels from Kenshin aren't that easy to come
by, especially cels that I'm interested in because I'm very picky with what I
want. I might slow down once in while, but I always come back to collecting RK.
I am always looking for more RK cels, especially from the TV series and the
first OVA series Tsukiokuhen. You can go to my wish list to see what I'm still

I'm especially interested in cels from the Kyoto Arc episodes and of Kenshin
fighting Aoshi in the Library. There are several cels from the later episodes
that I'm looking for, too. Like when Kenshin fights the German Knights in the
fire and from the episodes earlier in the series when Kenshin is protecting the
governor. My MOST WANTED Kenshin cel is the pan cel from Eps. 30 of Himura as
Battousai. It is on my RS wish list shown, since it is my #1 wish. There are
several from Tsuiokuhen that I want.
I also love to draw and paint and made several
fanarts of anime and manga. In my Gallery you'll find my personal collection of
all kinds of anime items and art. (at this time not all is online)

I collect cels and sketches from serveral series.
"ANFSOT" means Absolutely not for sale or trade.
The items in this gallery are all ANFSOT unless they are in my Sale section.
Please do not take any images from my website without my permission.
All cels in this Gallery are Original PRODUCTION cels used in the animation with the exception of a few. Since newer anime are CG, you will see in my Gallery Official Licensed Rilezu and Reproduction cels. Not all newer anime that are CG have Rilezu or Reproduction cels.
A Rilezu is a copyright cel made by companies or by the original studio. A reproduction cels is
made usually by the actual studio. and also officially released. A Rilezu is a copyright cel made by either the original studio or a separate company that has the copyright license to produce the Rilezu. Usually a Rilezu does not come with an original production douga that had been used in the making of the anime, depends on the studio. because of that one of three cases concerning douga will occur.
1) no douga is included.
2) a newly made douga known as a "Clean Up Douga" (one that has been produced to make the Rilezu itself) is included.
3) the original douga included. Since it is hard to tell which is real and which is not. The best way to find out is to contact the person/dealer that is selling for the studio itself. It can become confusing if not asked the right way, always make sure you include both terms of "production" (is the douga an original production douga made to produce the Anime or is the douga a production douga made to produce the Rilezu).
A Reproduction cel is an officially released cel made by the Studio itself. The same image can range from 3 to 50 cels of same image, rarely more, depends on the anime and studio
